Software Engineer, Data Integration and Automation (Python)

Job Description

We are seeking a remote, full-time Software Engineer with 3+ years of Python and screen scraping experience to join the development team of our U.S. client. Successful candidates will possess specialized expertise in data extraction techniques and automated transaction systems. In this role, you will enhance and expand our client’s data integration infrastructure, ensuring efficient and accurate connectivity between consumer applications and point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Our client is an AI-based, ecommerce software company that is pioneering connectivity in the food ordering sector. Its scalable platform features robust inventory and ordering API capabilities that link consumer applications directly to retail POS systems. Our client counts many of the biggest names in retail food service as customers utilizing advanced AI to facilitate data extraction and order management across over 1 million stores within the U.S. and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, data extraction solutions that gather real-time inventory and pricing data from multiple sources
  • Enhance order processing systems that seamlessly integrate consumer orders with a variety of POS systems improving transaction efficiency
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify technical requirements and integrate innovative, automation features into the platform
  • Troubleshoot and optimize back-end systems, ensuring high reliability and performance standards
  • Continuously improve API services for scalable support of the growing customer base's needs

Experience

Required

  • Excellent English communication and teamwork skills
  • 3+ years of software development experience utilizing Python
  • Proven experience in web scraping
  • Familiarity with database management and data integration technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • A collaborative approach, can-do attitude, and relentless pursuit to attain goals and solve problems
  • Trustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent

  • University degree in computer science, related field of study, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with cloud services and serverless architectures
