Senior Software Engineer
React.js / React Native / C#, C++, or .NET

Job Description

We are looking for a full-time, remote Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of full stack software development experience and a background in React.js and React Native as well as C#, C++, or .NET to join our U.S. client’s engineering team. In this role, you will utilize excellent problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as patience and a customer-friendly attitude while working in a team environment.

The right candidate is someone who solves problems, enjoys diving into and modernizing 30-year old product, drives high quality industry and team standards, loves learning new processes, terminology, concepts, and code, and displays a deep curiosity about how banking institutions function.

Our client is a U.S. fintech software company offering innovative banking solutions that improve operations and members’ financial lives. The company has grown steadily since its inception over thirty years ago counting nearly 300 financial institutions across the United States, U.S. territories, and the Caribbean as customers. Backed by a large private equity company, our client is a recognized market leader helmed by financial industry veterans.

Responsibilities

  • Modernize and transform the client's existing software and write new features for the client's customers
  • Document the client's processes, products, and APIs
  • Assist with software releases and ensure we remain on schedule
  • Participate in story pointing and estimation activities
  • Review code and provide feedback as well as participate in pair programming
  • Be an Agile Scrum advocate
  • Write and maintain automated tests using tools, such as Jest, Jasmine, Cypress, Telerik Test Studio, and Grafana k6

Experience

Required

  • Excellent English communication skills
  • 5+ years of experience of software engineering experience
  • Experience with the React Framework and React Native or equivalent JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with a major back-end language, such as C#, C++, or .NET
  • Experience working with databases, such as Progress OpenEdge, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
  • Background with Agile Scrum
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well cross-functionally
  • A strong product sense, a high degree of empathy for internal and external users, and desire to seek feedback from the same users about your work
  • Understanding of development ergonomics taking pride in understanding your engineering customers
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and gets excited about collaboration to better define complex problems, determine solutions, and then execute on them
  • The ability to strike a balance between speed and quality of features to create durable technology. You thrive on building scalable systems that are robust, failure-resistant, and easy to maintain.
  • A practice of keeping up with industry trends and assessing new technologies that can help better solve problems
  • Trustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent
