Senior Full Stack Application Developer (WinForms / VB.NET / ASP.NET / C# / SQL)

Job Description

We are looking for a full-time, remote Senior Full Stack Application Developer with 5+ years of experience producing commercial grade software that is highly maintainable and supportable. The ideal candidate will have proven, on-time delivery experience working in a vibrant, dynamic, startup environment; strong problem-solving abilities; an aptitude to learn new technologies and concepts quickly; and a trustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent work ethic.

Their solution increases brand loyalty through improved customer experiences, optimizes operations resulting in lower costs, and increases sales volumes through comprehensive analytics and employee performance insights. Over 7,000 locations use their technology today processing $5 Billion in daily sales. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to design, develop, and support existing as well as new functionality
  • Address defect backlog and build small, new features for a point of sale (POS) team using primarily Windows Forms, VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET, and C#
  • Produce high quality code following best practices and standards
  • Analyze code to find defect root causes and revise existing applications
  • Perform high quality peer reviews
  • Manage source code with other team members using Git/GitHub
  • Troubleshoot identified issues and design / develop resolutions

Experience

Required

  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
  • 5+ years of commercial software development experience
  • Experienced in Windows desktop development using Windows Forms and VB.NET
  • Experience developing libraries, NuGet packages, and web services / APIs using ASP.NET and C#
  • Experience with design, queries, and ORMs, such as Entity Framework or Dapper, for Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies, current development best practices, and source code management systems, such as Git/GitHub
  • Familiarity with unit testing practices and technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in-concert with a broader team
  • Proven on-time delivery experience working in a vibrant, dynamic startup environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities as well as aptitude to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
  • Trustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent

Desired

  • University degree in computer sciences / engineering or related field
  • Experience with .NET Core as well as Azure services, data storage, and databases
  • Experience with point of sale (POS) systems or the restaurant industry
