Job Description

We are seeking a remote, full-time Senior Front-End Engineer with 4+ years of front-end experience including 3+ years of React.js. You will play a critical role in creating and refining user experiences that are intuitive, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing. Your work will directly contribute to the client’s mission of delivering innovative solutions that exceed customers’ needs.

This role is ideal for a results-focused individuals interested in developing data-centric front-end UIs to search, visualize, and learn from data generated by life science companies. You will collaborate with Engineers, Data Scientists, UI/UX Designers, and end customers to build and deploy internal and customer-facing applications. In this role, you will also test and troubleshoot alongside other development team members.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex designs into high-quality code, creating scalable, optimized, and accessible UI across platforms
  • Work closely with UI/UX teams bringing creative solutions to life, ensuring delivery of unparalleled user experiences
  • Lead front-end architectural decisions, advocating for best practices in performance optimization, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility
  • Write robust, maintainable code and contribute to automated testing and continuous integration for high-quality releases
  • Provide mentorship to junior developers and foster a learning and growth environment
  • Engage in critical feedback processes to refine concepts and ensure solutions surpass customer expectations

Experience

Required

  • 4+ years of front-end experience developing, testing, troubleshooting, and releasing production applications with a strong understanding of web performance. Examples of past work are appreciated.
  • 3+ years of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.js
  • Skills with libraries like D3.js to generate beautiful, intuitive scientific visualizations
  • Proven track record in responsive, adaptive design, with a keen eye for detail in translating designs in tools like Figma to functional user interfaces
  • Strong foundation in software engineering practices, including version control with Git, testing methodologies, and CI/CD
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to address complex challenges and optimize web applications for performance and scalability
  • Team player with exceptional communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams and articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest front-end technologies and practices
  • Proven experience in a vibrant, dynamic startup environment
