Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a full-time, remote Senior DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our U.S. client’s DevOps team. In this role, you will fully automate provisioning, deployment, management, and monitoring for a rapidly evolving and highly scalable set of SaaS products. You will work with members of the DevOps team alongside a DevOps architect ensuring best practices are implemented across applications, leading teams on critical initiatives, such as CI/CD and enterprise monitoring, and supporting operational services. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and collaborative teamwork.

Our client is a U.S. fintech software company offering innovative banking solutions that improve operations and members’ financial lives. The company has grown steadily since its inception over thirty years ago counting nearly 300 financial institutions across the United States, U.S. territories, and the Caribbean as customers. Backed by a large private equity company, our client is a recognized market leader helmed by financial industry veterans. 

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive production system stability, respond to incidents, and improve reliability across critical services
  • Design, build, and maintain automation tooling to support internal teams and streamline cross-team workflows
  • Partner closely with Engineering, QA, and Services to scale DevOps maturity and accelerate delivery
  • Lead efforts to improve system monitoring, alerting, and recovery processes for high uptime and resilience
  • Mentor teammates, champion best practices, and contribute to onboarding, retrospectives, and training
  • Experiment with new tools, processes, and metrics to continuously advance DevOps excellence organization wide

Experience

Required

  • Excellent English communication skills
  • 5+ years of experience of hands-on DevOps experience, preferably with ownership of production systems, automation, and reliability in complex environments
  • Deep experience with production operations, incident management, and reliability engineering for complex distributed systems
  • Strong proficiency in automation scripting, such as Python and Bash, and modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands-on background with major cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible
  • Proven expertise with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Datadog, in production environments
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor others, standardize processes, and drive adoption of best practices across teams
  • Strong collaborator, comfortable working cross-functionally with Engineering, QA, and Services
  • Familiarity with DevOps metrics and frameworks, such as DORA metrics and SRE practices, and a passion for data-driven improvement
  • Creative problem solver who thrives in a bold, powerful, and caring team culture
  • Trustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience; advanced degree or certifications in DevOps or Cloud
