Senior Data Engineer
(SQL / dbt / Airflow / Python)

Job Description

We are looking for a remote, full-time Senior Data Engineer with 5+ years of data engineering experience to architect data pipelines (ETL / ELT), manage data warehouse, and write or optimize analytics SQL queries for our industry-leading U.S. client.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and scale data pipelines from internal and external data sources
  • Establish and maintain capabilities for monitoring pipelines and data integrity
  • Implement best practices for data integration, security, performance, and management
  • Deliver high-quality, architecturally sound, extensible code
  • Participate in architecture, coding, and testing of developed systems
  • Assess requirements as well as discuss and debate possible solutions
  • QA test code and troubleshoot to find and fix bugs

Experience

Required

  • Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • 5+ years of professional experience working as a data engineer or similar role, with a track record of building the right data engineering solutions that scale, provide high availability, and require minimal maintenance
  • 5+ years of experience of writing analytics SQL, managing data pipelines in Airflow & dbt (Python) for ELT / ETL
  • 3+ years of AWS or other cloud platform experience
  • Experience in Agile / Scrum
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Track record building professional, high-quality, and on-time software

Desired

  • CI/CD experience with CircleCI, Jenkins, or similar technologies with CircleCI, Jenkins, or similar technologies
  • Writing efficient SQL queries for big-data databases, such as Snowflake
  • Experience with container-based systems, such as Docker
  • Experience with serverless computing, such as AWS Lambda
  • Familiarity with microservices architectures and DevOps
  • Proven delivery experience in a vibrant, dynamic startup environment
  • Experience with ecommerce data or analytics applications
