Senior Back-End Software Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a remote, full-time Senior Back-End Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience in developing integration solutions with Python and JavaScript / TypeScript to join the development team of our U.S. client. You will design, build, and deliver the best financial software on the planet!

Our client is a fintech company that provides commodities managers with task automation and timely insights on their trades, including risk exposure, positions, and profits and losses. With over 5 million trades on its SaaS platform, the company is an award-winning industry leader that counts some of the world’s largest financial firms as customers. Our client is growing rapidly and is looking for smart, bold risk-takers to further its product strategy of market disruption and expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Prismatic, Workato, Temporal, or similar tools (single tool to be chosen) to build and deploy integration interfaces
  • Utilize AI tooling, such as Cursor and CodeRabbit, to accelerate software development
  • Review, interpret, and respond to detailed business requirements
  • Collaborate with development and services team to ensure successful integration solution implementations
  • Thoroughly conduct testing and troubleshooting to guarantee data accuracy and integration reliability
  • Serve as a technical liaison with customers and data providers, gathering and analyzing integration requirements
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality integration solutions and promptly addressing issues
  • Drive integration projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and deliverables
  • Provide project progress as well as identify and mitigate risks and issues
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of integration processes, solutions, and best practices
  • Provide training and support on the use of integration tools and methodologies
  • Be a source for continuous innovation, facilitating rapid time-to-market delivery and competitive advantage.

Experience

Required

  • Excellent English communication and teamwork skills
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing integration solutions
  • Strong Python and JavaScript/TypeScript coding experience
  • Proficient in the use of AI tooling, such as Cursor and GitHub CoPilot
  • Experience with integration platforms, such as Prismatic, Workato, or Temporal, ETL / ELT, or APIs
  • Strong understanding of web services, JSON, and data integration methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience effectively troubleshooting complex integration issues
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and data providers, understanding their needs and translating them into technical requirements
  • A self-disciplined, task-oriented approach to development, testing, and code structure

Desired

  • University degree in Computer Science, a related field of study, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in finance and/or energy, commodities, or equity trading
  • Experience with enterprise-grade software and highly secure, multi-tenant SaaS solutions
