Job Description

We are seeking a remote, full-time Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of software engineering experience and a strong background in Ruby on Rails (RoR). The right candidate will operate in a fast-paced environment working closely with our client’s development team to advance its industry-leading software products.

The duration of this project is approximately 12 weeks.

Our client provides a cloud-based ERP platform to hundreds of energy industry customers delivering market-leading field service management, field data gathering, transportation, production, accounting, and land software solutions. Backed by private equity, our client accelerates business performance, improves operational efficiency, and reduces costs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation, development, and implementation of critical system design changes, enhancements, and software projects
  • Ensure timely execution of project deliverables
  • Work with other engineers to ensure the system and product are consistent and aligned through all processes
  • Improve product quality, performance, and security through substantial process improvements
  • Follow development standards and promote best practices
  • Perform code review sessions and suggest improvements or alternatives when appropriate

Experience

Required

  • Excellent English verbal and written skills
  • 5+ years of software development experience with a strong background in Ruby on Rails
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries against a relational database
  • Comfortable operating in a Linux environment
  • Experience in REST and effective web services design
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git
  • Proven experience working effectively in a vibrant, dynamic startup environment
  • Trustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent

Desired

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Front-end development experience with Backbone.js and JavaScript
